The cursed doll of Singapore
In 2014 the picture of a strange and disturbing doll went around the world. It was a porcelain doll found next to a tree in Singapore, with a blindfold over its eyes. The blindfold bore a phrase written in Arabic, translated as “in the name of God”, which many thought was a kind of seal to keep an evil entity at bay.
On Reddit, in fact, the story of this doll appeared: its owner had abandoned it after strange things happened once they had bought the doll. The toy moved by itself and could sometimes be heard speaking in a woman’s voice.
The unlucky owner then decided to get rid of it, but first put a blindfold over its eyes so that it could not find its way home, writing a phrase on it as protection. It is said that whoever removes the blindfold will be the doll’s next victim.
